Referrals to The Whiteley Clinic:
The Whiteley Clinic is a specialist
clinic that is not funded by the NHS but has been set up
independently - which in the UK is therefore called a "private
clinic".
As such we can only see patients who
have funding to see us. Payment for our specialist services can be
thorough:
Patient who pay for themselves (self
funding)
Private medical insurance - please
check with your insurer first and check the
Private Medical Insurance page
Occasionally we can see NHS patients -
but funding must be agreed and guaranteed before we can book an
appointment
We provide
consultations and treatments with the exception of iontophoresis -
those who we deem suitable for iontophoresis will be recommended
to a company that sells these machines.
We have found that
most patients prefer this and do not wish to attend regularly for
iontophoresis treatments in the clinic when for a similar cost,
they can buy their own machine and use it at home.
However, most
patients are suitable for other treatments rather than
iontophoresis. If anyone does want to use iontophoresis in The
Whiteley Clinic, we are happy to make arrangements for them to do
so.
If you wish to be seen for excessive sweating of your
armpits (axilla), face, groins, feet, hands or generalised of the
whole body, we would be more than happy to see you at The Whiteley
Clinic.
You are able to
refer yourself but we do encourage you to ask your GP to refer you to us. We would also encourage you to make sure that you have tried the conservative measures outlined in this site before you come to see
us as, if they work for you, you will have saved yourself a journey.
If you do not wish to have your GP refer you for any particular reason, we will
still be happy to see you and treat you on a private patient
basis, but we will ask your permission to keep your GP informed of
any results or treatments that you have under our care.
If you wish to use
Private Medical Insurance, and you insurer agrees to your
referral, you will need a referral from another doctor (usually
your GP) to activate this. If you are unsure, please check with
your insurer as to their rules on your policy.
If you have any
questions please feel free to ask us via the
Contact Us page.
